Elon Musk Considers Removing Block Feature on X Social Media
Elon Musk, the guy who owns the X social media platform (formerly Twitter), has suggested a big change. Soon, you might not be able to block people from seeing your posts or commenting on them. But don’t worry, you can still block them from sending you private messages.
Right now, when you block someone, they can’t follow you, see your tweets, or message you. It’s a way to stop people from bothering you or spreading hate.
Instead of blocking, Musk thinks we should only have the “mute” option. Muting means you won’t see their posts in your feed, but they can still see yours.
This idea has upset some X users, like the Auschwitz Memorial account. They say blocking is important to stop hate speech.
There’s another problem too. If X removes blocking, it might not be allowed on app stores like Apple’s App Store or Google Play. They have rules against apps that don’t protect users from bullying or harassment.
So, this change could shake things up on X, and we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
